Bulwell Vision are involved with community safety for the area. We attend the Community Safety Working Group every quarter and the police tasking meetings every two weeks. These meetings are attended by a range of partners, including the police, Nottingham City Council Area Focus, the Neighbourhood Wardens, Youth Service, Crime Concern, Housing, Health Development, Street Clean, and Local Councilors.
These meetings focus on solutions to reduce the following:
- Criminal damage
- Burglary
- Anti social behavior
- Vehicle crime
- Retail crime
- Fear of crime
- Violence against the person
We have been at the forefront of driving forward and developing a strategy to reduce domestic violence, and have worked with Nottingham City Council to develop domestic violence training for all workers in the area. We are also working with Michael Ellis, the Fire service Community Safety Advocate, to improve issues with the fire service.
Bulwell Vision also works positively with a range of organisations to develop community safety prevention work. We have worked with Crime concern to develop youth provision, the youth service to develop a youth forum and with the tenants and residents groups.
